Who we are

Our mission is to provide safe shelter, comprehensive trauma-informed care, and empowerment services to help women veteran domestic violence survivors transition into stable, independent, and productive members of the community.

My Sisters House is more than a shelter; it is a trauma-informed healing ecosystem dedicated to empowering a population often overlooked: women veterans who are survivors of domestic violence (DV) and intimate partner abuse (IPA) in Georgia

What we do

My Sisters House is strategically designed to move beyond basic shelter, offering a premier transitional housing model currently unmatched in the region.

A Sanctuary of Safety: We use our substantial capital to secure a permanent, non-congregate facility with high-grade, commercial security and a focus on privacy and trauma-informed design. This includes private suites and secure perimeters to ensure survivors feel truly safe.
Specialized, Co-Located Care: Healing from trauma is a full-time job. Our expanded staff includes a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide critical, co-located mental health services, ensuring women don’t have to navigate multiple systems for care.
Empowering the Next Generation: The cornerstone of our family-centric model is our dedicated Onsite Child Care Program. This crucial investment allows veteran mothers to fully commit to their therapy, vocational training, and job search, knowing their children—who are secondary survivors—are receiving stabilizing, trauma-informed care and educational support from a dedicated Child Advocate.
The “My Way Home” Program: Our structured 9-12 month transitional program provides a clear, three-phase roadmap: Safety & Stabilization, Wellness & Empowerment, and Independence & Reintegration (including direct linkage to VA benefits and permanent housing through programs like HUD-VASH).
